Current concept for long-term success with implant
prostheses.
- The
ARK system was introduced. (computer aided immediate flapless surgery with
immediate permanent prosthesis)
- Common
implant complications were reviewed.
Speaker 2: Dr Thomas Han (TH) is a board certified
periodontist and an adjunct professor at UCLA school of dentistry.
Current concepts in esthetic approach to implant surgery.
- Controversial
treatments of today allow faster more comfortable treatments for patients.
These modalities will become eventually standard of care: immediate tooth
replacement; bone graft; membranes in combination with bone graft.
- Surgical
video of an extraction with immediate implant placement was presented.
- Another
video demonstrated a CT graft to enhance esthetics around an implant.
- A
flowchart of surgical options was discussed.
- Adjunct
procedures cases reports were presented: rolling technique;
- Esthetic
surgical procedures for cosmetic nightmares were presented using soft
tissue, hard tissue grafts.
Speaker 3: Dr Perry Klokkevold is a periodontist,
associate professior-director at UCLA school of dentistry.
Implants: the new standard of care.
- Emerging
trends: shorter healing time, immediate loading. Evidence based decision.
- Implant
surface evolution: HA; TPS; acid etched. rough surface is stabilizing blood
clot.
- Contact
osteogenesis; distance osteogenesis.
- Early
loading; immediate loading; staged versus delayed; wide diameter implants in
the anterior maxilla;
